In addition to the capital costs listed above, the annual O&M costs required to maintain communications between the TMC and field devices using a fiber optic network were estimated at $2,400 per pan-tilt-zoom camera, $1,200 per master controller, and $600 per vehicle detection station camera.
Staffing requirements for the facility were estimated at $120,000 to $130,000 per year for two TMC Operators (initially 2 full time equivalents) as well as system support and administration. Training during the first year of operations was estimated at $20,000.
