Satellite Digital Audio Radio Service (SDARS) is a system that provides relatively high bandwidth digital data broadcasts over the continental US. The system is broadcast only and cannot support any return channel communications. The primary use of this system is for delivery of CD quality audio (the SiriusXM system). It is also used to deliver targeted telematics data to vehicles, and could be used to deliver message content and operational control messages to remote RSUs.
