Construction of a TMC in Colorado

The Colorado Transportation Management Center (CTMC) Integration Project was the result of FY01congressionally designated funds intended to improve transportation efficiency; promote safety; increase traffic flow; reduce emissions; improve traveler information; enhance alternate modes; promote tourism and build on existing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Total project investment was $6,753,160; which included $3,372,862 in federal funds, and $3,380,298 of State cash match provided by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT).
The cost breakdown for the CTMC Integration project was as follows:
- Task 1- New CTMC facility: $1,503,050. These funds were devoted to the new CTMC building and split into three sub-tasks.
- $137,000 for the 2003 transition planning and gap analysis; non-specific new CTMC location.
- $140,050 for the 2005 CTMC computer room transition, hardware, rack, network, cabling, electrical, telephone, communications, and miscellaneous design assistance.
- $1,225,000 for the 2005 new CTMC building project management, design, coordination, and inspection.
- Task 2- ATMS/ATIS Hardware, Firmware, Database and Operating Systems: $1,031,890. This task comprises primarily those items "supporting" ATMS/ATIS software development – servers, training, etc.
- Task 3- ATMS/ATIS Software Integration: $2,961,415. Primarily ATMS/ATIS software development.
- Task 4- ATMS/ATIS General Integration: $1,256,805. Primarily ATMS/ATIS software development.
